Second phase of consultation on our vision for Plot B and the future of the Albion Bridge

Thank you to all those who took part in our first phase of consultation on our emerging vision for Plot B and the future of the Albion Bridge. We are grateful for all of the feedback shared by the community so far, which the design team has considered as they have continued their work.

Our developing proposals for Plot B include:

  • c. 730 new student rooms, helping to free up much-needed family homes in Southwark.
  • c. 70 affordable new homes.
  • A new community hub at the ground floor level with connectivity to new green spaces.
  • Significant improvements to the local public realm and pedestrian connectivity, including additional greening to the surrounding area and new connecting routes through the site.

We have been progressing plans for a new high-quality crossing over the Albion Channel which will replace the Albion Bridge. The new crossing will be wider, to allow for a more convenient and safer pedestrian experience. It will also include a look out space, providing a unique place to enjoy views of Canada Dock whilst supporting the vibrancy of the emerging town centre.

We are now pleased to be able to share our emerging designs with you and welcome your feedback on these.

We are hosting two drop-in events at our Dockside Project Hub, Retail Park, Unit 1 Canada Water, Surrey Quays Rd, London, SE16 2XU (enter via Maritime Street) on:

  • Saturday 14th September: 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
  • Tuesday 17th September: 4:30 pm – 7:30 pm

Our consultation on these proposals has now closed, but you can still view the consultation materials presented by following the link here.

Following this second phase of consultation, we will review the feedback and use it to develop our final proposals. We will then share further updates on our plans with the community later this year, before submitting applications to Southwark Council.

If you have any questions about the proposals, please contact the team via email [email protected] or by telephone on 020 3900 3676.
